Getting started on the Corporate Takeover

Alright I'm making this blog as an easy, well easiER way of posting updates on the status of my in development RAGS game Corporate Takeover.

There are several things I'd like to do before releasing the next update to the game. Those being:

1). Finish up work on the Prologue.

  • Fix up all the bugs and spelling errors and grammar mistakes
  • Get all variables up to date with the Prologue's description (Fatigue, Vulnerability, Loyalty, etc)

2). Major bug fixes

  • Prevent clothing from being dropped
  • Make keys available to use while in Purse
  • Fix Car (may need mechanic har har)

3). Minor bug fixes

  • Spelling, grammar, punctuation in general game
  • Removing/Wearing clothes should change the main display

4). Progress storyline

  • Business meeting
  • Add in Monica
  • Add in Gym
  • Add in Fitness Instructor
  • Add in ability to not lose first encounter
Once I've finished those I should have a new update ready and upload it.

  1. love the concept. One thought I had with regards to the clothes, sometimes it is nice to be able to change/remove clothing if you aren't necessarily in your bedroom/bathroom- as long as it is a "private" place. It also enables us to enjoy a naked view of the character as we wander throughout their house. Just something to think about.

    1. Clothing updates are definitely going in at a later date. I'll probably dedicate an entire update to clothing, like I'm planning for the companion system. I do have several ideas already in the works for places where characters can "change" and I don't see any reason not to extend the "naked" area to the entire house. Though I might add in a little something fun if you "abuse" it too much ;)

  2. that would be an interesting twist! I love it. Let me know if you find yourself looking for a tester/bug detector. I think it's a great concept.

  3. I was wondering if you could explain the 'Companion system' you are working on here.

    1. Well the Companion System is going to be really complex, but I'll try to explain the main points of what I'm planning.

      Firstly the Companion System is going to be a way to gauge your own willpower (or lack thereof). There isn't going to be any fancy "healthbar" in Corporate Takeover to let you know if you're about to fall over or not, instead you'll have to either Examine yourself, though this will not always be possible, or you can Examine a Companion and gauge how they are reacting to a certain circumstance. If they appear to be getting distracted or act out of character, you may want to take a look around the room because if something is affecting them something may also be affecting you!

      Also the Companion system will be like "extra lives." Can't tell you how frustrating it is when I'm playing a RAGS game and I lose, either on purpose or on accident, and because I didn't save the game or because my save file got deleted or corrupted or whatever, I have to start the game all over again. So the more Companions you acquire, the more chances you have to send your Companions in to save your main character.

      I'm also thinking about a few instances where you can use your Companions to do things that your current character simply cannot, but Sadie WILL be the main character and this game will not be one where you can swap characters whenever you want to. Sadie is the CEO and that means that the main story can only proceed with her at the helm.
